What is a Pulsed Magnetic Field Therapy Mat Session?

A PEMF session uses a mat or pad emitting electromagnetic fields to support healing. It helps with pain relief, relaxation, sleep, circulation, anxiety and overall well-being. Here’s what to expect:

  • You will be guided to lie down in a comfortable and quiet space on the PEMF mat.

  • We will pick an intensity that feels comfortable for you. The intensity can be adjusted based on your sensitivity and the desired effects.

  • Duration: The duration of a PEMF mat session can vary, but it typically lasts between 30 minutes to an hour.

  • Relaxation: Once you're lying down on the mat, close your eyes and try to relax your body and mind. You may choose to meditate, listen to calming music, or engage in deep breathing exercises to enhance relaxation. You may find yourself drifting off into the clouds.

  • Sensations: As the PEMF mat emits electromagnetic fields, you may feel gentle pulsations or vibrations. These sensations are usually not uncomfortable and are part of the therapy. However, if you experience any discomfort, you can adjust the intensity.

  • Post-session: After the session is complete, take some time to gradually transition back to your regular activities. It's common to feel relaxed and rejuvenated following a PEMF mat session, and some people report improved sleep quality and reduced pain or discomfort.

My personal experience with PEMF

PEMF found me after many years of being in pain everyday from a bulging disc and sciatica injury. I also suffered from extremely tight muscles and joints and had fibromyalgia for years mostly due to my trauma I experienced as a child and growing up. I was in India at the Oneness University practising meditation and even though I had done years of yoga it was still very painful for me to sit in crossed legged pose. I had also given up doing my acupressure treatments on clients as it was too painful. I prayed with all my might to find something that I could heal my body with and I could help heal others as well.

When I returned to Canada, a friend introduced me to the PEMF mat—it was life-changing. I started using it 2–3 times a day and within weeks, I was sleeping better, feeling less pain, and gaining energy. Before, I couldn’t sit for more than five minutes without excruciating pain, struggled with anxiety and depression and felt completely drained.

After eight years of chronic pain with no relief, the mat made a difference. Within a month, my back was 60% better, my anxiety disappeared and I felt more relaxed, grounded and energized. Over time, I no longer needed daily sessions and today, I’m pain-free.

Because of my incredible experience, I became a PEMF facilitator to share this healing tool with others. I now offer PEMF sessions and can help those interested in getting their own mat.

What is PEMF?

PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy. It is a form of therapy that uses electromagnetic fields to improve health and well-being. The therapy involves the use of a device that generates electromagnetic pulses, which are applied to the body to stimulate cellular repair and promote overall wellness.

The concept behind PEMF is rooted in the idea that electromagnetic fields can influence the body's electrical system and cellular functioning. It is believed that by exposing the body to specific frequencies and intensities of electromagnetic fields, PEMF therapy can help improve circulation, reduce pain and inflammation, accelerate healing, and support various physiological processes.

Why Do We Need PEMF?

In this day and age we are bombarded with pollution and electrosmog which is the presence of electromagnetic fields and radiation generated by our phones and our computers and wi-fi (you can’t get away from it).

The Science Behind PEMF - Type 2 Medical Device

PEMF therapy has been used to aid in the management of various conditions, including chronic pain, osteoarthritis, sports injuries, wound healing, depression and sleep disorders.  The PEMF mat I use is registered as a type 2 medical device (which means it has gone through year long testing to prove it treats these ailments) for MS, diabetes, arthritis, osteoarthritis, wound healing, depression, anxiety, insomnia, sciatica, headaches, tissue regrowth, cancer, decreasing inflammation and pain, increasing oxygen, increasing ATP and Mitochondria production.

How Does PEMF Work?

PEMF is a great stress management technique that works on a cellular level increasing ATP and mitochondria Production. Why is this important?

Mitochondria are known as the powerhouse of the cell because it is responsible for the extracting energy from food through cellular respiration. The energy is released in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). It is an energy currency of the cell.

How Does a PEMF session Feel?

A PEMF mat session makes you feel relaxed, rejuvenated and blissed out. It helps calm anxiety and makes you feel grounded so you can be more at peace especially in those times you get triggered and your nervous system gets dis-regulated. The PEMF mat is another great tool for processing trauma by gently releasing it from the body with gentle waves and replacing it with new vibrant positive energy.
